MCE Erastin

A ferroptosis inducer that inhibits cystine uptake and promotes iron-dependent oxidative cell death.

Product Details:

MCE Erastin is a widely used ferroptosis inducer. It blocks cystine uptake mediated by system Xc⁻ and SLC7A11, reducing intracellular glutathione availability and increasing susceptibility to lipid peroxidation.

Erastin has also been associated with voltage-dependent anion channel signaling and accumulation of reactive oxygen species. It is commonly used with ferroptosis inhibitors such as Ferrostatin-1 as an experimental control.
