A selective V-ATPase inhibitor for studying lysosomal acidification and autophagic flux.
Bafilomycin A1 is a selective and reversible inhibitor of vacuolar-type H⁺-ATPases. By preventing organelle acidification, it interferes with lysosomal degradation and autophagosome–lysosome function. It is widely used to evaluate autophagic flux and investigate lysosomal biology.
