An animal-free recombinant Factor C fluorescence assay for quantitative bacterial endotoxin detection.
The Lonza PyroGene® Recombinant Factor C Assay is an endpoint fluorescence method for detecting and quantifying Gram-negative bacterial endotoxin.
Endotoxin activates recombinant Factor C, which cleaves a fluorogenic substrate to generate a measurable fluorescence signal. Because the assay uses recombinant Factor C rather than horseshoe-crab lysate, it provides a non-animal-derived alternative for endotoxin testing.
