The Roche Cell Proliferation Kit I (MTT) provides a colorimetric method for measuring metabolically active cells. Viable cells convert the yellow tetrazolium salt MTT into purple formazan crystals, which are solubilized and quantified using a microplate reader.
The kit is suitable for cell-proliferation, viability and compound-cytotoxicity studies in a 96-well format.
