A heat-labile recombinant alkaline phosphatase for rapid dephosphorylation of DNA and RNA ends.
NEB Quick CIP is a recombinant, heat-labile version of calf intestinal alkaline phosphatase. It removes 5′ and 3′ phosphate groups from DNA and RNA and can also hydrolyze unincorporated nucleotides. In cloning workflows, Quick CIP helps prevent self-ligation of linearized plasmid DNA.
The enzyme is active in common restriction-enzyme buffers and can be rapidly and irreversibly heat-inactivated, reducing the need for a separate purification step before ligation or end labeling. neb.com
