A DNA-specific exonuclease for removing single-stranded primers and linear single-stranded DNA.
NEB Exonuclease I (E. coli) is a DNA-specific exonuclease that removes nucleotides from linear single-stranded DNA in the 3′→5′ direction. It is commonly used to degrade residual single-stranded primers following PCR while leaving double-stranded PCR products intact.
Typical applications include enzymatic PCR cleanup before Sanger sequencing, removal of primers before nested PCR and selective removal of linear single-stranded DNA. www.neb.com
